02/14/22 | Box Offices Brazil: Death on the Nile and Sacred Exorcism lead in the country

The main opening of the weekend in Brazilian cinemas, the film death on the nile, based on a book by Agatha Christie, ranked first at the Brazilian box office. The production added up to just over R$ 2.3 million in revenue – little, but enough to guarantee the first position on a weekend with low demand.

Sacred Exorcism, another weekend debut, took second place, totaling just over R$2.2 million – practically a technical tie between the top two. The duo overcame Spider-Man: No Return Homethe country’s biggest box office in 2021/2022 with more than 17 million tickets sold.

Moonfall: Lunar Menace, leader of the previous week, fell to the fourth position with a turnover of R$ 1.8 million, a drop of almost 50% compared to last weekend. Closing the Top 5 was the national comedy I’m Ryca 2which added up to R$ 1.6 million.
