The extensive offer at Amazon Prime Video is constantly expanding. In addition to the free content, one has been added today, which is primarily intended to provide a lot of laughter. The reason for this are two actors who, according to selected critics, fully immerse themselves in their roles. The good thing: The comedy starts at the same time as parts 1 and 2 on Amazon.
New film on Prime Video: You can stream this starting today
As the list of new releases on Amazon Prime Video in February 2022 already reveals, you can watch the comedy “Bad Neighbors” (2014) for free since Tuesday. In addition, there is the follow-up film “Bad Neighbors 2” (2016) on the same day, so nothing stands in the way of a small marathon.
While the latter couldn’t match the success of its predecessor, some top critics were at least from “Bad Neighbors” (originally: “Neighbors”), and in particular from the leading duo Zac Efron (known from the “High School Musical” series) as well Seth Rogen (“Long Shot”, “The Interview”) is convincing.
“Sure, it could have been more precise, a clockwork script, but I laughed so hard I didn’t care about the shaggyness.”
Alonso DuraldeWhat the Flick?!
“You expect hardcore comedy from Neighbors, and that’s what you get.”
Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
“Neighbors is rude, outrageously and hilariously offensive (…) but Efron gives the film a curious twist.”
René Rodriguez, Miami Herald
“When Rogen and Efron face off, you feel like you’re seeing two characters with everything at stake. It’s so funny because it’s more real.”
Mike LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle
That’s what Bad Neighbors is about
The plot of the latest Amazon Prime Video addition is quite simple and quickly explained. Married couple Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) live in a quiet neighborhood with their baby. Until the Delta Psi Beta (ΔΨΒ) fraternity moves into the house next door.
It is not without reason that the young parents now fear sleepless nights and noise from parties. After the previous fraternity house burned down during a party, fraternity president Teddy Sanders (Zac Efron) is planning a spectacular event in the new domicile.
First of all, both parties agree to seek direct dialogue in the event of conflicts instead of notifying the police. But then comes the moment when Mac calls the law enforcement officers for help and breaks the agreement.
The students’ revenge takes the form of pranks and extra-loud parties. So the Radners come up with a plan to wear down the connection from within and sow discord. As a result, the neighborhood dispute takes on more brutal forms and finally flares up.
