Last year codes were found suggesting that the Google is working on developing a new user interface for the Android Auto. Internally called ‘Coolwalk’, this new feature would be the biggest overhaul of the system’s interface since 2019, now images of this update leaked on the internet and showed some of the news.

The new look of the system was first identified by the portal XDA-Developers last year, now the user of reddit u/RegionRat91 published some new system images. Apparently, this novelty is being made to reduce the number of times the user enters and exits browse mode.

As pointed out by XDAthis new look is quite similar to what was leaked in September 2021, but with some important differences in the interface. One of the highlights is the system status barwhich has information such as WiFi, network signal, battery etc, which has been moved to the bottom right cornerwhich creates a more immersive visual experience.

Another change is in Dedicated button to open side panel, which now works through the home button, which also, if pressed for a while, will show some retractable widgets. A novelty is that, if the screen is large enough, the system will also display a card from the Google Assistantwhich shows in detail some information such as the weather.

With the new interface of Android Auto, even if the user exits the navigation map, the system will continue to show the map pinned to the corner of the screen. One of the great new features of the system will be the ‘Cast‘, which will allow the user to mirror the screen of their smartphone, however, the function of this novelty has not yet been revealed.

The ‘send SMS‘ which, as its name implies, allows users to quickly send text messages when a call is rejected. The release date of the new user interface Android Auto has not yet been revealed, we of the Connected worldwe will talk as soon as the Google give new information about the novelty.
