Apple wants users to trade in their smartphones for the iPhone 13 line. The company’s trade-in program is an opportunity to offer older models and get discounts on newer iOS smartphones. However, in the United States, the company changed the price table for Android cell phone exchanges and reduced the price of almost all models.

Apple seems to indicate that Android model swaps are not worth as much as iOS model swaps. Some of the value changes are in the range of US$ 100 (R$ 542 in direct conversion), as is the case of the Galaxy S21 Plus. Most Android smartphones that can be used to get discounts when purchasing an iPhone have been changed, with the exception of Galaxy S8 Plus and Galaxy S8.

The reduction in the price list especially affects those users who are thinking about leaving Android and entering the iOS ecosystem. Anyone who owns, for example, a Samsung smartphone and was looking for the iPhone 13 will now need to pay a higher amount, as their smartphone will not be worth as much.
