With the latest version of iOS, Apple is apparently testing a new one Siri voice. This should be neither clearly male nor clearly female.

New Siri voice: That’s why it’s here

A new Siri voice was introduced in the iOS 15.4 beta, according to Axions. There’s a very specific reason she can’t be assigned a gender. Apple explained to Axions that the company wanted to accommodate the LGBTQ+ community.

“We’re excited to introduce a new Siri voice for English speakers, giving users more options to choose a voice to speak to them,” Apple said in a statement to Axios.

“Millions of people around the world rely on Siri to get things done every day, so we’re working to make the experience feel as personal as possible.”

However, the new Siri voice is still in the testing phase and only serves as an additional option. The male and female voice will continue to be available.

New Siri voice also in Germany?

Initially, gender-neutral Siri is only available to English-speaking users. It is not known when the voting option will also be available in Germany.

You can find out how to activate Siri and set up the smart assistant here. Is it even possible to rename Siri? This only works in a roundabout way. If you don’t want to use the voice assistant, you can turn off Siri.
