Awesome Games Done Quick’s latest fast running marathon is in the books. After another week of players showing off their skills and playing as fast as possible, AGDQ 2022 raised $3,416,729 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This is a record total for any Games Done Quick event in the organization’s 12-year history.
According GDQ Tracker, the highest donation was $236,656 and the average pledge was $25. The AGDQ 2022 velocity reached $1 million in donations, reaching that threshold faster than any previous GDQ event.
The AGDQ once again took place as an online-only event amid concerns over COVID-19. Even though there wasn’t an in-person audience to cheer players on, there were still some notable runs. For example, a runner named Mitchriz used audio cues and a deep understanding of the notoriously difficult Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to win the game in two hours blindfolded.
The runners also broke some world records during the event, including in Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Pumpkin Jack and Webbed. You can follow these races and everything else from AGDQ, on YouTube channel Games Done Quick.
The GDQ will then host an all-female speedrunning event called Frost Fatales, which runs from February 27 to March 5. As usual, you will be able to watch it live on Twitch. Summer Games Done Quick will return later this year.
