Released in 2015 by Pinkfong, the video for baby shark It’s a hit with kids to this day. In November 2020, the children’s music video topped the hit despacito, reaching the mark of 7 billion views on YouTube, being the most viewed video on the platform. Now, this week, the video has reached yet another historic milestone. The clip has passed the mark of 10 billion views, being the only one to reach that number so far.
Despite having recently arrived on the internet and being successful globally, the song is older than it looks. The song is a popular nursery rhyme, especially among scout children who join camp groups in the United States.
In addition to the clip, the song won several parodies in Brazil and even a children’s program on Nickelodeon channel, called “Baby Shark’s Big Show!”
Currently, the Pinkfong channel (musical group of the South Korean company SmartStudy) has 54.8 million subscribers and releases children’s music clips frequently.

To commemorate the historic feat, the official Pinkfong & Baby Shark page made a post via Twitter.
“Today we mark history with our special milestone! Baby Shark Dance has become the first video ever to reach 10 billion views on YouTube!” published the musical group.
With the numbers updated, the top five most viewed videos in YouTube history are:
1. Baby Shark Dance – 10 billion views.
two. Luis Fonsi – Despacito ft. Daddy Yankee – 7.7 billion views.
3. Johnny Johnny Yes Papa – 6.1 billion views.
