It is not unusual for WhatsApp to come with limitations in the versions of operating systems it supports. This is a need that this service has, to ensure that it can provide users with the best features.
A new review appears to be on the way, with the end of support for some of Apple’s systems. At stake is iOS 10 and iOS 11, which will soon no longer be supported, causing users to have to update their iPhone.
Even though it is a service with current and always improved features, WhatsApp seeks to maintain a legacy for older systems and equipment. In this way it guarantees the necessary compatibility for all those who maintain themselves with smartphones that are not recent.
Of course, this compatibility is not eternal and sometimes this service ends up having to eliminate some support. This is the case that it's about to happen, with some Apple systems. iOS 10 and iOS 11 will no longer be supported.
Update the latest iOS version to continue using WhatsApp
WhatsApp will no longer support this iOS version after October 24, 2022. Go to Settings > General and tap Software Update to get the latest iOS version.
according to what is on the support page WhatsApp this change will take place on October 24 this year. From that moment on, any iPhone with one of these versions will see WhatsApp stop working or some features will follow this path.
Users who are in this scenario are already receiving notifications to alert them to this situation. It is recommended to update to iOS 12 or later. As for support, this change will affect two iPhone models, which are still in use.
These will be the only devices directly affected, with the rest having the possibility to upgrade to a newer version. In comparison, on Android, only version 4.1 or higher is required.
