Betty White: US President Joe Biden and many stars in TV special

The US television network NBC is showing a TV special in honor of Betty White (1922-2021) on January 31. In a recorded video, US President Joe Biden (79) will also remember her in “Celebrating Betty White: America’s Golden Girl”, as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”.

In addition to the President, numerous celebrities should also have their say on TV. Co-stars, friends and admirers talk about special moments they shared with White. Also present are fellow actors such as Drew Barrymore (46), Anthony Mackie (43), Goldie Hawn (76) and Tina Fey (51), singer Cher (75) and presenters such as Ellen DeGeneres (64) , Jay Leno (71) and Jimmy Fallon (47). Betty White was a ‘cultural icon’

Betty White passed away at the end of 2021 and would have celebrated her 100th birthday on January 17th. The longtime actress was known, among other things, for her cult role in the sitcom “Golden Girls”. After White’s death became known, many stars had already reported via social media to say goodbye.

The actress “put a smile on the faces of generations of Americans,” Biden said on Twitter. He described her as a “cultural icon” who will be “sorfully missed”. Together with his wife Jill (70), he will think of their family and everyone they loved on New Year’s Eve.
