BMW iX3 electric SUV will be launched in Brazil in 2022

THE BMW announced last Tuesday, February 15, that the iX3 will be released in Brazil. For those who don’t know, it’s a 100% electric SUV, and has the basis of the X3. The electric model uses the propulsion system eDrive fifth generation, and the electric motor is of 286 hpwith 40.8 kgfm of torque installed on the rear axle. The battery has an autonomy of 461 kmin the WLTP cycle, and the recharge must be carried out with 11 kW in alternate current, and 150 kW in direct current. Recharging up to 80% of total capacity lasts a little over half an hour – 35 minutes under ideal conditions and at full power.

BMW confirmed that the structure of the traditional x3 was reused, and optimizations took place to adapt and support the particularities of an electric car. This model also has a center of gravity of 7.5 cm lower than the combustion model, and according to the automaker, cornering performance has been optimized in the iX3. As an option, the buyer will be able to choose the suspension adaptive m. The car goes from zero to 100km/h in approximately 6.8 seconds – limited to 180km/h of maximum speed.

Price and release date have not yet been revealed.

Two options will be available for those who wish to purchase this model, and they have parking assistant, adaptive automatic speed controller, and three-zone automated air conditioning, being able to activate pre-cooling and pre-heating in the cabin. Other novelties are the new air intakes in the bumper, and headlights with new lanterns, giving a three-dimensional look.

The official price has not yet been published by BMW, but it was reinforced that it will be released by the end of this year. And along with the information highlighted above, it was confirmed that the BMW i3 should, in fact, be discontinued. Just for reference, hiX3 will be positioned below BMW iXsold from BRL 654,950. Regarding the size, it will be comparable with the Volvo XC40 Pure Electric – sold from BRL 409,950
