CES 2022: HyperX Launches Three Gaming Headsets, Android Game Controller, and More

HyperX, HP’s gaming peripherals subbrand, announced its lineup of new products at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022. The lineup includes three headphones, a game controller for Android devices, a mouse and a keyboard. One of the biggest advertisements for the gaming peripheral brand is the HyperX Cloud Alpha wireless gaming headset, which has a battery life of up to 300 hours on a single charge. The HyperX Clutch wireless game controller can connect to Android smartphones via Bluetooth and to PCs via a USB cable.

The HyperX Cloud Alpha gaming headset costs US$199.99 (approximately Rs. 14,900) and will be available in February. The HyperX Cloud II gaming headset will sell for $99.99 (approximately Rs. 7,400) and will be available starting in March. The HyperX Cloud Core gaming headset will be available from January for $69.99 (approximately Rs. 5,200). The HyperX Clutch wireless game controller will cost US$49.99 (approximately Rs. 3,700) and will hit shelves in March. The HyperX Pulsefire Haste wireless gaming mouse and the HyperX Alloy Origins 65 mechanical gaming keyboard are priced at $79.99 (approximately Rs.6,000) and $99.99 respectively, and both will be available in February.

HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless, Cloud II, Cloud Core gaming headset specifications

Claimed to have a battery life of up to 300 hours on a single charge, the HyperX Cloud Alpha wireless gaming headset supports the DTS Headphone:X audio experience. The headphones feature 50mm HyperX dynamic drivers and custom dual chamber technology. The over-the-ear headphones also feature memory foam and faux leather ear cushions. They have a frequency response range from 15Hz to 21,000Hz.

They also feature detachable noise-cancelling condenser microphone with LED indicators. Connectivity options include a wireless USB dongle and a USB 2.0 port. Li-ion polymer battery can be fully charged in 4.5 hours. They weigh 332 grams without the microphone attached.

The HyperX Cloud II gaming headset features 53mm dynamic drivers and frequency response range from 10Hz to 23,000Hz. They also feature HyperX Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound. They get a new pink and white color palette for 2022.

The third headset announced by HyperX is the HyperX Cloud Core Gaming Headset. They feature DTS HeadphoneX audio with 3D spatial audio. For 2022, HyperX has abandoned Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound for these headphones. Also, they are similar to the output model.

HyperX Clutch Wireless Game Controller Specifications and Features

Designed to be used with Android smartphones via Bluetooth v4.2, the HyperX Clutch Wireless Gaming Controller can also be connected to PCs using its USB Type A to Type C cable or 2.4GHz wireless receiver. It can last up to 19 hours with a single charge of its 660mAh battery. Also includes a removable and adjustable mobile phone clip that can be adjusted from 44mm to 86mm.

HyperX’s wireless gaming mouse features a hexagonal honeycomb-shaped design that claims to make it ultra-light. The low latency HyperX Pulsefire Rod can be connected via the 2.4GHz wireless frequency. It has a battery life of up to 100 hours on a single charge from its 370mAh battery. It has an IP55 rating. Using HyperX NGENUITY software, users can customize DPI settings, RGB lighting, button assignments, and record macros. It measures 124.3×38.2×66.8mm and weighs 61 grams without the cable.

The HyperX Alloy Origins 65 keyboard has mechanical keys with a lifetime click rating of 80 million. It features backlit RGB keys and, using HyperX NGENUITY software, users can customize lighting and other settings. It measures 315.06×105.5×36.94mm and weighs 827.7 grams.
