The new flagship series from Apple is scheduled to be launched in autumn 2022. The tech giant from Cupertino, California has been working on its new cell phones for quite some time. Now finally the technical concepts as well as that iPhone 14 theme to be final. Suppliers such as the Taiwanese entrepreneur Foxconn are said to have even started production.
Apple approves iPhone 14 design
Citing unnamed industry analysts, the Taiwan Economic Times reports that Apple will begin trial production orders in mid to late February. As a result, the suppliers would create bills of material and set up suitable production and testing machines. Using these sample products, the foundries collect data and correct any anomalies in order to optimize the production process. But that will only happen when the iPhone 14 design is in place – now it seems to be ready.
In the case of last year’s iPhone 13 Pro, the Chinese manufacturer Luxshare received around three percent of the OEM orders. Foxconn, in turn, was responsible for a good 75 percent of the iPhone 13 and 100 percent of the Pro Max volume. But what about the smartphones of this year’s iPhone 14 series?
Well, for better or for worse, Luxshare has to give up its orders for the Pro models. According to the Taiwan Economic Times, Apple only uses the group as a second supplier for the basic version. The reason for this is sometimes that the company initially wants to concentrate on expanding other business areas. This also includes the newly founded joint venture Chery New Energy. It deals with the research, development and production of vehicles with alternative drive types.
It is still unclear what the iPhone 14 design will actually look like in the end. However, some concepts have already been published that could indicate the approximate appearance. The latest pictures show a Pro model, which appears to be an improved version of its predecessor from a purely visual point of view. Still others say Apple is going even further back with the iPhone 14.
What awaits you in 2022
According to different sources, Apple will again present four versions of its flagship cell phone in autumn 2022. In addition to the technical details, there has also been speculation about the iPhone 14 design for weeks – if not months. Industry observers seem to agree on at least one point. Accordingly, the prices of the iPhone 14 series are already fixed:
- iPhone 14: $799
- iPhone 14 Max: $899
- iPhone 14 Pro: $1,099
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: $1,199
But Apple isn’t just filling its smartphone segment this year. PC offspring is also planned. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is planning seven new products for this segment in 2022.
