Disney+ reaches 130 million subscribers and closes distance to Netflix

Since its launch in late 2019, the Disney+ has been growing non-stop and being a real success among consumers of services via streaming. The streaming service The Walt Disney Company has been consolidating itself as the second largest in the market, with numbers that indicate that it may soon take the lead.

In a new subscriber report, the company stated that currently 130 million people subscribe to its streaming. This number is slightly higher than the 129.8 million subscribers who paid for the service at the end of last year, which was a increase of 11.8 million in the last three months of the year.

the success of Disney+ may have come as a surprise to the company itself, because when it launched the platform, it expected something between 60 and 90 million customers in four years of operation. Not even two years have passed since the service’s official launch, and the number of subscribers has already doubled from the company’s lowest estimate.
