THE DJI released a new firmware update for the DJI Mavic Air 2 and Air 2S which is causing doubts among some owners of the company’s drones. That’s because the manufacturer simply stated that this patch is only fixing problems, but without directly mentioning what those problems would be.
This is the company’s first firmware update of the year for the Mavic Air 2, the new update is bringing the version 01.01.07.10 of the aircraft system and updating the firmware of the remote controller to the version 04.11.00.32. In the patch notes the company only states that this patch is “fixing some bugs” and that, if an error occurs during the aircraft or control update, the user should just try again.
THE DJI Mavic Air 2S is also getting an update, with the drone now getting the new one firmware version 02.04.21.30 it’s the control version 04.12.00.55. The update notes contain the same words present in the air 2, with the new version only “fixing some bugs.”
Due to the lack of explanation of DJI in talking about the problems solved, some owners of the company’s aircraft were surprised by the update, with people reporting on the company’s product forums that the new firmware apparently did not bring any difference in the functioning of the models. The portal DroneXL states that it contacted the manufacturer to learn more about the update, the company has not yet responded.
As pointed out by DroneDJ, another thing that stands out is that this is the third firmware update for the models Mavic Air 2 and Air 2S that the main objective is to fix bugs and improve performance, without bringing any new features to the aircraft.
