Elon Musk needs no introduction, being known for several reasons. The main one, of course, is because he owns the Tesla electric and autonomous car company, but, on the other hand, also because of his irreverent personality, which leads him to have behaviors and publications that are very much his own.

However, it seems that not all sectors attract the CEO in the sense of professionally betting on them. The latest information indicates that, although he is very fond of video games, with Elden Ring as his favorite game, Musk stated in a podcast that he does not intend to compete in the console sector.

Musk will not compete in the video game console market

In a recent US podcast called “Full Send”, Elon Musk said on some subjects, especially related to the gaming segment. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO mentioned that he likes video games, and his favorite is the recent hit Elden Ring.

However, everything indicates that the executive, who is also known for betting on various markets of his interest, will not enter the world of games. More specifically, when asked if he is considering being part of the video game console market, Musk was very objective and clear in his answer when he said “no” to this possibility.

In the executive's view, “consoles, at the moment, are basically PCs”. As such, Elon Musk concludes by saying that “nI'm not sure if there is any value to be offered in this market”, which is fiercely competitive.

In this way, and at least for now, the CEO will no longer create a competitor to Microsoft's popular Xbox consoles, Sony's PlayStation or Nintendo's Switch.

You can watch the podcast below, this subject being mentioned from 2:22:00 onwards:

Musk says he plays his favorite game Elden Ring, from creator FromSoftware, and a few months ago the CEO posted on the social network Twitter that this title was “the most beautiful art” he has ever seen.

And while it may not compete in the gaming sector, Musk appears to be working towards bringing games to his Tesla cars by integrating the Steam platform into vehicle systems.
