Europeans bought 76.1 million games in the first 6 months of 2022

According to the data advanced by the website GameIndustry.biz, Europe's gaming market, which is one of the largest in the world, bought a total of 76.1 million games over the first six months of this year. These values represent an increase of 13.5% compared to the same period last year.

When scrutinizing these numbers, it appears that, of the total, 32 million refer to the sale of physical copies of the games, which indicates that just over 43% of players opted for this format. But this is a choice that tends to decrease as digital options gain more ground.

Other details show that, of all the countries on the European continent, Germany was the one with the highest number of games sold in the first half of the year. In all, the population of the country bought 15.4 million games, that is, an increase of 13% compared to the same period in 2021. In second place comes the United Kingdom with 14.3 million sales (+2%) and France, whose residents bought 10.2 million games (+12.1%).

Elden Ring is the best seller
