Forgot Apple ID email address

If you forgot your Apple ID password, the only way to regain access to your account is through your email address. But even if you forgot them, Apple says you can find them in a number of ways:

#1 Check your email inbox

It’s possible that your email address is included in some emails from Apple. Therefore, you should review all repair, support, and billing emails you’ve received from Apple.

Watch out:

If you found such an email, it may be that the email address is in masked form (e.g. “k*****@icloud.com”). You should note that the number of asterisks does not necessarily have to match the actual number of letters in your email.

#2 Check if you are already logged in

If you are already registered with a device using your Apple ID, this will be displayed in the settings, for example. For iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch, open Settings and click your name at the top. The e-mail address will then be displayed under “Apple ID” and a photo.

Signed in with Apple account already

On Mac, this involves opening System Preferences and then clicking Apple ID. You will then find your email in the left menu bar. And it works for Windows too: after you open iCloud for Windows, all you have to do is search for your Apple ID under your name.

Important:

You can also find your email address through various Apple services. This can be done, for example, via the App Store, iTunes, FaceTime or messages.

If everything went well, you can now change your Apple ID password. But that’s not the only thing that can be changed. If you want to use a different email address for your Apple ID, you can do that too.
