Windows 11 users on PCs with compatible displays can manually change the screen refresh rate to get a better visual experience when scrolling through web pages or a long text document, for example. Depending on the monitor and video driver installed, it is also possible to enable the so-called Dynamic Refresh Rate, which will automatically adjust the screen’s refresh rate. See how to do this by following the steps in this post.

What about the dynamic refresh rate?

If your monitor is supported and the video driver installed is of type WDDM 3.0* or later as shown in the image below, you will also see the option to use dynamic refresh rate in the menu. As the name implies, dynamic refresh rate in Windows 11 automatically adjust the screen refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz:

*Type it dxdiag in the Start menu search box to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and check the type of video driver installed.
