How to find Minecraft diamonds?

It’s hard to find a better known sandbox game than Minecraft. The title developed by Mojang officially debuted in 2011 and has since gained millions of fans around the world.

In Minecraft, players are allowed to participate in many different activities. And with the game updated regularly, the fun and new features never seem to stop.

But one of the main occupations when playing Minecraft is obviously mining. At the bottom, you will find many vast resources, such as coal, iron, gold and, above all, minecraft diamonds. Getting your hands on your first diamonds is a milestone in every game of Minecraft, and frankly, it doesn’t look like that’s going to change. Diamonds are essential for building your equipment and developing many structures.

Thus, players of Minecraft have always tried to find the best way to find minecraft diamonds. And with the latest 1.18 update, which went live in late 2021, the way to do that has changed a bit.

In patch 1.18, several huge changes have been implemented in the world generation of the game. Since the update, players are allowed to dig even deeper, down to level -64. Caves became home to new monsters and became even more complex.

Fortunately, there have not been many changes in terms of minecraft diamonds. The most important rule always remains the same. They start appearing at level 15, so start your search for the precious ore at this level. But to maximize your chances of finding diamonds, you should dig as deep as possible before you hit bedrock. The lower you are, the more likely the diamonds will appear.

Once you hit bedrock, it’s best that you start mining, as long as your pickaxes can handle it.

Last but not least, players will need to remember to dig themselves in, not just explore the mines generated by the world. Indeed, in update 1.18, Mojang added a “reduced exposure to air” mechanic to the minecraft diamonds, which means they have a chance of not spawning next to an air block. Thus, you may not always find the ore when exploring caves. It is best to look for them by digging yourself.
