How to run the training app in the background on your Apple Watch

There are settings on Apple Watch that will help you run the training app in the background. In the meantime, you can always have your favorite watch face visible, or even the screen off during your workouts.

Here's how you can get this simple configuration and use it on your Apple Watch:

1 - Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch. 2 - Click on General 3 - Click on Back to Watch

On this screen, you can configure the length of time after which the watch switches to your preferred watch face.

Apple Watch returns to the watch face after 2 minutes of viewing a launched app or after pressing the Digital Crown.

Set Back to Watch for different apps on your Apple Watch

After selecting the time duration from the Back to Clock main screen, you can scroll down and choose the specific behavior of the application.

1 - Scroll down to the application list on the screen back to clock; 2 - Choose the application by clicking on it; 3 - Select Custom here at Back to Clock; 4 - By selecting Custom, you can set the parameters for When not in session; 5 - For option when in session activate back to application on this screen so your watch can return to the training watch face when you are training.

When you turn off "Back to app" under "When in session" for a particular app, your Apple Watch reverts to the default watch face and you won't have to see the training app screen until you complete your workout.

This was one more tip of many that are available for your Apple smartwatch. Sometimes these adjustments help to have a better perception of the information we are using on the watch screen.
