IPMA: Is your district on red warning due to the heat?

Portugal is going through an intense heat wave and alerts appear from all over. On the IPMA website – Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera it is possible to know that there are 8 districts in red warning due to the heat.

The red warning is the most serious of all. Find out which districts are in this situation.

IPMA puts 8 districts on red notice

IPMA is responsible for ensuring Meteorological Surveillance and issuing Meteorological Warnings whenever adverse meteorological phenomena are predicted or observed. Warnings are issued at the district level for different meteorological parameters, according to a color table, which reflects the degree of intensity of the phenomenon.

The colors presented must be interpreted as follows:

As you can see in the following image, the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Vila Real, Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco and Portalegre will be under red warning from 9:00 am today, due to the heat.
