Hazelight Studios and Sonic the Hedgehog producer dj2 Entertainment intend to transform in a movie or TV show. “Creating the world and history in Take two it was a lot of fun for me and the team,” Hazelight founder and creative director Josef Fares said in a statement. “As it has a strong narrative with a lot of crazy characters and equally crazy co-op action moments, the potential is huge for a great film or television adaptation.”

Together with Take two and the sonic movies, dj2 is working on a tomb Raider anime for Netflix. It is also developing a Elysium disk series and one sleeping dogs film.

Although Take two received widespread applause for its platforming and asynchronous split-screen gameplay, several critics disagreed with the “stay together for the kids” story, and a character called The Book of Love.
