The news so dreamed of by the fans of Star Trek finally came out. During a presentation to Paramount investors, JJ Abrams revealed that the footage of the fourth Star Trek movie are scheduled for the end of 2022.
Even without revealing the details of the story, Abrams promised that he will keep the cast of the last three feature films in the franchise, which began in 2009. Thus, Chris Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Zoe Saldaña (Uhura), Karl Urban (Bones), John Cho (Sulu) and Simon Pegg (Scotty) are confirmed below.
From the new story, Abrams directed Star Trekfrom 2009 and Star Trek – Beyond the Darkness2013. The third film Star Trek: Without Borders (2016) was in the hands of Justin Lin and grossed over $343 million at the box office. Now, according to information, the new feature film will be directed by Matt Shakmansame director of the WandaVision series and the film Cut Bank.
“We are excited to say that we are working on a new Star Trek movie that will be shot later in the year and will have the original cast back as well as new characters that I think will be fun and help bring Star Trek to places. that you haven’t seen before. We’re excited about this movie and we’re talking about a bunch of other stories that I think are going to be pretty exciting, so I can’t wait for you to see what we’re up to. Until then, live long and prosper.” Abrams revealed at the event.
It is worth noting that recent films from the Star Trek universe are available on Netflix, HBO Max and Prime Video.
