The jungle camp took place in South Africa this year. This was a premiere for “I’m a star – get me out of here!” (also on RTL+): For the first time, it wasn’t shot in Australia. How should things continue next year? The sender responded to this. “The jungle belongs to Australia and we will produce the show there again if that is possible,” explains RTL entertainment director Markus Küttner. This depends on the global corona situation.

“It was great in South Africa”

Nevertheless, he emphasizes that this year’s jungle camp in South Africa was a complete success: “It was great in South Africa – much more than an emergency solution. I’m very grateful to everyone who did such a great job on site.” South Africa is “a great country and the region where we produced season 15 is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.” , says Kuttner. In addition, the cooperation with the South African team “worked really well”.

The Australian jungle camp “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” has been taking place in South Africa since 2015. However, due to the corona pandemic, the Australian offshoot was produced at home. The South African jungle camp was free for the German stars in 2022.
