It is not uncommon for the developers of different services to copy each other. In the past, such feature clones included stories and reels, such as those found on Instagram today. The whole thing goes back and forth so often over time that in the end nobody really knows who actually had the function first. The same probably applies to WhatsApp Reactions.
WhatsApp Reactions are coming soon
WhatsApp is accused of stealing the feature from Telegram. The service, in turn, probably used Apple’s iMessage at the time. Either way: It will soon be the turn of what is probably the world’s most famous messenger. In the beta version, the community has been able to take a look at the WhatsApp reactions for a few months. Since then, users have been waiting eagerly for them to be made available to the public.
You have no idea what this feature is anyway? No problem. As the name suggests, reactions are reactions. More specifically, the innovation allows you to react directly to certain messages – both in private conversations and in group chats.
There are basically six WhatsApp emojis available to you:
- thumbs up
- red heart
- Bleeding Laughing Smiley
- Surprised Smiley
- Sad smiley with tear
- clasped hands
New update planned
It is not yet certain when the corresponding WhatsApp update will come. WABetaInfo only reveals via Twitter that the service team is currently preparing the new beta update. A little later, the function should also reach the final version of the messenger.
WhatsApp 2022 is also planning some changes apart from the reactions. One of them even met the messenger on Wednesday February 2nd. She brings WhatsApp in line with a new law.
