Disney+ is finally close to releasing moon knight. The Marvel series is now defined will premiere on March 30, and the trailer shows how the streaming service will tackle the mercenary-turned-superhero. Oscar Isaac stars as Steven Grant, a gift shop employee who has trouble distinguishing not just between dreams and waking life, but between identities – he discovers he shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. The two identities must reconcile as they face a threat among the Egyptian gods, eventually teaming up with the show’s eponymous knight.
The series also stars Ethan Hawke and ramyIt’s May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed the season. The Umbrella AcademyJeremy Slater is the head writer, with Marvel Cinematic Universe guru Kevin Feige serving as one of several executive producers.
moon knight is one of several MCU “Phase Four” shows announced in 2019, including projects now available as WandaVision and Archer hawk as well as productions still on air like lady marvel and She Hulk. In a way, it represents the next wave of Disney+ happy. Disney is confident enough to bet less on connections to popular Marvel movies and more on new stories, even if it’s still leaning on stars like Isaac (he’s no stranger to Disney himself) to draw in viewers.
