THE Motorola launched on December 15, 2021 the Motorola Edge 30X in China. THE smartphone, the first to debut the SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, should soon reach the rest of the world with only a few changes. The renderings of the new model of the Motorola were released by leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore.
Fingerprint reader under the screen on Motorola Edge 30 Pro
Among the differences of hardware (actually the only one) of Motorola Edge 30X and the Edge 30 Pro is the change of the fingerprint reader, which migrated from the side button to a sensor under the screen. And speaking of screen, the Moto X30 Special Edition must remain the only one smartphone line with camera under the screen, as leaked renders show that the selfie camera will continue to be the punch hole type.

A curious change in smartphone is the change of position of the logo of Motorola. While in the Chinese version (Edge 30X) the logo is in the center of the back, in the global version the manufacturer’s symbol has been moved to the lower left corner.
Edge 30 Pro retains hardware specs
THE Motorola Edge 30 Pro will be released globally with the SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a UFS 3.1 internal storage of 128GB and 256GB. Same as its Chinese version.
On the part of the cameras, they follow the same configuration: selfie camera with 60 MP, three sensors at the rear, the main one being an OmniVision OV50A with 50 MP, capable of recording videos in up to 8K, secondary ISOCELL S5KGM1 of 50 MP and a depth sensor of 2 MP field.
Edge 30 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution (2220 x 1080p) and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The display is not only quite fast, but also promises to bring great reproduction, with support for features like HDR+ and 10-bit color. The device will come from the factory running Android 12 and with a battery of 5,000 mAh, capable of supporting 68W wired fast charging.
