Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ and Co., the list of paid streaming services has also increased noticeably in Germany. One of the most popular subscriptions for films and series is Netflix. At 12.99 euros per month for the standard model, however, it is not one of the cheapest offers. And that could get worse. Then Netflix has the Price 2022 already raised for some.
Soaring Netflix prices: 2022 is off to a bad start for some
The current Netflix prices for 2022 have not changed in Germany since they were last last year. It doesn’t have to stay that way for long, however. Because in the USA and Canada, the streaming provider has pushed through an increase of several US dollars. For example, the standard subscription for two simultaneous streams costs $15.49 instead of $13.99.
For the most expensive premium version of 19.99 US dollars, customers now pay four times what is due for a monthly Apple TV+ subscription (4.99 US dollars or euros).

- Basic: $9.99 per month (instead of $8.99)
- Standard: $15.49 per month (instead of $13.99)

Particularly annoying for Netflix customers: The reason for the price increase is not very clear. At least the published statement gives little information. Higher production costs and more profit are probably the primary drivers. Inc.com magazine’s conclusion, on the other hand, is somewhat more drastic, but not improbable.

Also 20 euros for German Netflix subscription conceivable
It remains to be seen whether there will also be new prices for German Netflix customers in 2022. The last increase was not until 2021. Nevertheless, it is conceivable that the current US prices will be adopted for Germany. The current premium subscription for 17.99 euros is at least not that far removed from the American counterpart at 19.99 euros.
