Apple released the first generation of its iPhone SE in March 2016. In terms of design and dimensions, the smartphone was very similar to the iPhone 5s and considerably undercut the price of the flagship series that appeared in the same year. This cheaper version of the iPhone received its successor in April 2020 and now the next one seems to be around the corner – the new iPhone SE 2022.

iPhone SE 2022 – it could come in March

Apple is slated to begin introducing new products this spring as well. According to industry analyst Mark Gurman, a corresponding virtual event could take place in March or early April. The company is said to occasionally unveil the new iPhone SE 3. According to Gurman, this is a 5G model with an improved design and an improved camera compared to the iPhone SE 2, which was launched in 2020.

In Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter, Gurman writes that he is expecting another big event in June. This is the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), at which Apple is supposed to present the usual operating system updates. Due to the still raging pandemic, he is assuming that the WWDC will also take place in a purely virtual manner.

More Apple news for 2022

The new iPhone SE 3 has been expected for some time. But according to the current status, nothing speaks against a Mac, Mac mini or a successor to the 27-inch Intel iMacs.

Last year, the company from Cupertino, California, only limited itself to the little things. The innovations of the iPhone 13 compared to its predecessor were hardly worth mentioning, in April Apple had announced its less successful AirTags and a new Apple TV 4K with a redesigned remote control.

The iPhone SE 2022 could bring some new momentum to the product range of the tech giant.
