The year 2022 has started and with it a new streaming service should come to Germany: Paramount Plus. What is already known about the service?
Paramount Plus: what is it?
Paramount Plus is a US streaming service from ViacomCBS. There is content from Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, Showtime and of course Paramount Pictures. The service is already available in the USA. In Europe it should appear in the course of 2022 (via deadline).
In total there should be more than 2,500 films and 30,000 series and broadcasts. These titles are currently available from the streaming service in the USA (via Vulture and Rotten Tomatoes):
- “Scream 1-3”
- “James Bond 007: Skyfall” (2012)
- “Interstellar” (2014)
- “Avatar” (2005)
- “ICarly” (2007)
- “Cosmo & Wanda: When Elves Help” (2001)
- “Rugrats” (1991)
- “The Good Fight” (2007)
- “Frasier” (1993)
- “Star Trek: Discovery” (2017)
- “Star Trek: Picard” (2020)
- “Star Trek: Prodigy” (2021)
Where can I book the service?
In Germany you will probably be able to book Paramount Plus as an independent service. But there is also a partnership with Sky. This means that you can book the service with a Sky subscription. Sky explains:
“How much Paramount + will ultimately cost has not yet been determined, but it can be assumed that it will be € 10 or more, since Sky Cinema customers would then have no advantage.”

However, we do not yet have further information on Paramount Plus for Germany. But one thing is clear: it is possible that Paramount productions from Disney Plus, Netflix and Co. will disappear over time and will be shown exclusively on the new service.
