Neymar buys NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club series for almost R$ 6 million

Yesterday (20th), the Neymar revealed on his Twitter that he is part of the community Bored Ape Yacht Club, a collection of NFTs that has been successful among the famous.

In addition to the Brazilian player, who bought two images from the collection, other public figures have NFTs of the same style. Among these celebrities are host Jimmy Fallon, basketball player Stephen Curry and rapper Eminem.

On the social network, along with the hashtag #BoredApeYC, the PSG and Brazilian team ace posted an image of one of his new NFTs: a pink monkey wearing a tuxedo and one with futuristic glasses. Subsequently, the player even put his new acquisition as his Twitter profile picture.

The value of NFTs

According to data from the largest NFTS marketplace platform, the OpenSea, Neymar invested more than US$ 1.1 million (the equivalent of R$ 6 million) in the two images in the collection. Through the Bored Ape 6633, which is now your Twitter profile picture, the ace paid 159.99 ETH (about US$ 517 thousand/R$ 2.7 million).

The other photo of the collection acquired by the player is the Bored Ape #5269, which illustrates a red monkey shooting a laser beam through its eyes. The price paid for the image was even higher, the player invested 189.69 ETH (approximately US$ 613 thousand/R$ 3.2 million). The ace still published the photo of the bored monkey on his Instagram.

After the acquisition attributed to the account called “EneJay”, Neymar transferred the NFTs to his new wallet EneJayVault, which also has other investments, such as another image (Bored Ape Yacht Club x adidas Originals) recently transferred by the Originals-Meta portfolio.
