The big communication companies in Brazil are working to keep the signals active in the city of Petrópolis, in Rio de Janeiro. After the tragedy, many were left without a network and had to carry out emergency procedures. One of the measures adopted is the sending of energy generators to the city. In addition, some operators are releasing bonuses for people to be able to use the mobile service.

According to the TechTudo portal, sure, Alive and Tim decided to use generators to keep their networks active. According to a note from Claro, despite the difficulty of keeping it active, since it always needs to supply the generator, the towers operate normally. Vivo confirmed that all its towers also work normally.

Claro informed that it has released an internet bonus for customers in the region. The decision applies even to prepaid lines that are out of credit. According to the company, the 1 GB bonus is valid for 7 days and can also be used in messaging apps.

The fixed network is still being rebuilt, as informed by Claro. Technicians’ jobs depend on the safety conditions at the site and the electrical supply.
