What Difference Does It Make? - The Smiths

The Smiths were a British rock band, founded in Manchester in 1982. Having as main characteristic the partnership in the compositions of Morrissey (vocals) and Johnny Marr (guitars), the band also included Andy Rourke on bass and Mike Joyce on drums. Critics consider the band to be the most important alternative rock band to emerge in the 1980s. The band was signed to Rough Trade Records, under which they released four albums, several compilations and several singles. Although having achieved little commercial success outside the UK during their years of activity, the band enjoyed great success in the years that followed, remaining on store shelves to this day. The band disbanded in 1987, never having reunited. The NME named the Smiths "Most Influential Artists of All Time" in a 2002 poll.
