Do you already have a smart meter connected to your home?

Surely you have already heard about smart meters which, in short, are smart devices that manage electrical power from a technological structure that remotely measures energy consumption, processes and makes data available and also provides support for the service provision.

There are several advantages associated with these devices, such as, for example, the possibility of taking readings from a distance without it being done by the employees of the network operators or by the customers. It is also possible to remotely make changes to the contracted power, among other benefits.

As we have already mentioned, more than half of Portuguese homes already have smart meters connected. However, by the end of 2024, E-Redes must ensure 100% customer coverage. But there are still 2.9 million smart meters missing, and close to 4.3 million of these devices have been installed so far in mainland Portugal.
