According to a survey released by MIDiA Research, the Spotify is currently the most used music streaming service in the world. The report based on data from the second quarter of 2021 reveals that even with the market dominance, the platform continues to fall and lets its competitors get closer and closer.
Together, the audio and music streaming platforms currently have around 523.9 million total subscribers, representing an increase of 26.4% compared to the second quarter of 2020.
In terms of growth, the services that grew the most over the past year were Amazon Music and YouTube Music. According to the survey, Amazon’s music streaming has increased by 25%, while the YouTube platform has increased its subscriber numbers by more than 50% in just 12 months.

In the chart of the global music streaming subscription market, as predicted, Spotify still appears in the lead with 31% of subscribers in the second quarter of last year, which represents a drop from the 33% it reached in 2020. In the second position, appears to Apple Musicwith a 15% market share.
