The offer of Bluetooth speakers is increasing and the sound reproduction quality increases as new proposals appear on the market, even when we look at more affordable brands. Tronsmart Bang is a recently launched speaker that offers unique technologies at a price of around €100.

But is it surprising in terms of sound? Come and discover all its details.

main specifications

THE Tronsmart Bang is a new wireless speaker, with Bluetooth connection (but not only), and with a power of 60W. It integrates two tweeters and two woofers, which guarantees true stereo sound reproduction.

One of its particularities is the fact that it includes a system of LED lights that can be defined by the user or varied with the beat of the music.

The battery that it integrates guarantees, according to the manufacturer, it can play music for about 15 hours, with the volume at 50%.

The Tronsmart Bang features patented SoundPulse technology, providing louder, more powerful sound than standard speakers. Another particularity of this speaker is that it can be connected to a set of up to 100 other Bang speakers, using Tronsmart TuneConn technology, with the aim of amplifying the audiovisual experience. Supports Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.

Users, via the app, will be able to adjust some parameters, namely, playback modes such as Sound Pulse, Hi-Fi, Classical, Vocal, Deep Bass, Rock and 3D. All this is supported by voice assistant.

Additionally, it is IPX6 certified, water resistant, and allows you to charge other devices such as a power bank.

The box only comes with the Tronsmart Bang speaker, USB charging cable, 3.5mm male/male jack cable (for aux-in interface) and quick instruction manual.

Construction and design by Tronsmart Bang

The Tronsmart Bang is a robust and heavy speaker. It measures 361 x 183.4 x 150.3 mm and weighs 3.08 kg, combining the plastic with a soft mesh in the area of the speakers, and with the rubber of the buttons.

It has a handle that accompanies the entire structure, with the inscription of the brand and, on the sides, the LED lights that can vary in color according to the user's preference or to the rhythm of the music stand out. On the sides are also positioned the "resonance membranes" for the bass.

In the area below the mesh, on the front, there is also an LED strip coordinated with the sides. Below the handle, also towards the front, there are several buttons and important indications for operation.

First there's the NFC zone, then there are the battery level LEDs, followed by the button for the TuneConn connection. Then there are the buttons for changing modes, volume (-), Play/Pause, volume (+), the button for SoundPulse as well as its status indicator and also the power button and the Bluetooth indicator. It should be noted that, in the manual, all the actions that the buttons allow executing are indicated, in addition to the obvious ones associated with them.

At the rear are the various connection interfaces protected by a strong rubber, thus guaranteeing protection against water ingress. It has a USB-A, USB-C, aux-in port and even a microSD card slot.

connectivity

The speaker features NFC. Thus, it is possible to make a fast bluetooth pairing, avoiding the usual additional steps to pair.

Bluetooth 5.0 technology is not just for music playback, where you can also use it for calls (since it has microphones) and, additionally, with your voice assistant Alexa, Google Assistant or Cortana.

There is also the Tronsmart TuneConn technology that allows you to connect up to 100 Tronsmart Bang speakers in perfect harmony. We only had one column for testing, so its effectiveness cannot be proven in this review.

sound quality

The Tronsmart Bang loudspeaker was created to be placed, essentially, in open spaces (outdoors) or in large rooms. It is, according to the manufacturer, a column for street parties.

It has a very wide range of sound, where balanced bass and treble stand out. With the sound at a very high level, it is still guaranteed that there is no sound distortion, but there is a limit that may vary with the musical style and the chosen mode.

However, the sound balance is not fully guaranteed with the settings in Default mode (loose bass below 50% volume), so the equalization mode must be adjusted to taste and according to the requirements of each style of music.

It is also worth mentioning the SoundPulse technology, which really guarantees an increase in sound volume compared to all other modes, without affecting the quality of reproduction.

verdict

The Tronsmart Bang speaker is available for €99.99which represents a very interesting price given the quality offered.

Sound reproduction, communication reliability and connection interfaces are factors to be positively highlighted. The sound quality and its balance add to the lot of positive aspects, where you can expect a very high sound level, considering the size it has and being powered by a battery.

However, the application appears as something that needs improvement. For example, it does not save the EQ mode setting between uses. Also, it has no custom EQ mode where you would expect an equalizer of at least 8 bands.

The autonomy can even go up to 15h with volume at 50%, as the manufacturer indicates. With the volume at about 75%, we reached about 10h of playback, which also made us very satisfied. It remains to be noted that the column can work as a USB powerbank.

Pplware thanks Tronsmart for providing the Tronsmart Bang column for review.
