Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2022 – the launch event where we got to see the Galaxy S22 series debut – is taking place on February 9, according to some tips the company has provided online. The South Korean giant confirmed last week that it is continuing the trend it set a few years ago and is hosting its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in February. Samsung, however, did not reveal the exact release date. In addition to the references to the February 9 date, the price of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in Europe has appeared online. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra specs have appeared online – again, but with additional details.

According to a user reported on Reddit, Samsung hinted at the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 timeline via one of its ads that appeared on Instagram. The ad included a booking link for the Galaxy Unpacked event. Upon completing the reservation through the link, Samsung showed a pop-up message confirming that the launch will take place at 10:00 ET (20:30 IST) on Feb. 9, the user said.
A screenshot was also shared on the same Reddit thread to provide references on Galaxy Unpacked’s alleged lineup.

An insider on Twitter using the username @TechInsiderBlog also claimed that Samsung’s Galaxy unzipped 2022 web site briefly suggested its schedule. The site in question allegedly included calendar invites for Google, Outlook and Yahoo. The invite shows that the event would start at 15:00 UTC (20:30 IST) on February 9 – the same schedule that allegedly appeared in the message confirming registration for the Instagram announcement event.
Some previous reports indicated that Galaxy Unpacked would take place on February 8, while the February 9 date may be exclusive to a separate China release.
Gadgets 360 has not been able to independently verify the reported claims regarding the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 dates. Samsung has also yet to announce the event’s schedule through its official channels.
Meanwhile, Roland Quandt from WinFuture.de knocked down the European prices of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series.

According to Quandt, the price of the Samsung Galaxy S22 will start at EUR 849 (approximately Rs. 71,700) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone is also said to have an 8GB + 256GB option available for EUR 899 (approximately Rs. 76,000). The Samsung Galaxy S22+, on the other hand, is priced to have the 8GB + 128GB model for €1,049 (approximately Rs. 88,600) and the 8GB + 256GB variant for €1,099 (approximately Rs. 92,600). However, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is available in 8GB + 128GB model for EUR 1,249 (approximately Rs 1,05,500), 12GB + 256GB for EUR 1,349 (approximately Rs. -the 12GB + 512GB variant line at EUR 1,499 (approximately Rs. 1,22,400).
Separately, an informant on Weibo shared an infographic that indicates the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The new flagship should have features that include up to 512GB of onboard storage and a 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to 1500 nits of maximum brightness.

The infographic shared by the insider suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra would come in a basic 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, along with 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB options. The phone would also run Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on top and feature a 6.8-inch 2x Dynamic AMOLED display with HDR10+ support and up to 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the phone appears to have the Exynos 2200 in some markets and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in others.

Additionally, the infographic shows that there would be a quad rear camera setup, with a 108-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 wide-angle lens, 10-megapixel telephoto, 10-megapixel sensor with f/4.9 periscope lens, and a 12 megapixels with an ultra wide f/2.2 lens.
Samsung also appears to have provided a 40-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, with an f/2.2 lens.
The infographic suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra would carry a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Additionally, an S Pen has appeared next to the phone that claims to have 2.8 milliseconds of latency.
