Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the long-awaited second season of Bridgerton. The nearly one-minute clip promises even more gossip, which once again caused a stir in the London upper class of 1813, as well as new love dramas about the Bridgerton family.

Who is Lady Whistledown?

Overall, however, the clarification of the identity of the omniscient Lady Whistledown seems to be the focus. Viewers get to see them at the end of the first season and again in the trailer. However, the London high society around which the series revolves is left in the dark. “While members of our high society wonder who the author is, all I’ve done is hone my skills,” the backbiter queen voices in the trailer.

The lead actress of the first season, Phoebe Dynevor (26) aka Daphne Bridgerton, will apparently be seen frequently in the new episodes. However, the new episodes will not revolve around them. Instead, the focus is on Daphne’s brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey, 33), who is trying to live up to his role as head of the Bridgerton family. The search for the right wife is part of it. Anthony is said to be dating beautiful Kate Sharma, played by newcomer Simone Ashley (26).

Last but not least, the other Bridgerton siblings, Benedict (Luke Thompson, 33) and Eloise (Claudia Jessie, 32), will of course also be back in the new episodes. As well as Eloise’s girlfriend Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan, 35) and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel, 52).

Fan favorite Regé-Sean Page (34) aka Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, whom Daphne married in season one, will not return in the new episodes.
