THE apple recently added new items to their lists of classic (or vintage) and obsolete devices. The company frequently updates the lists according to the amount of time that the devices stopped being sold by the brand. Among the apple products that now occupy places in the lists are the iPhone 6 Plusone of the first large-screen appleit’s the fourth generation iPadboth classified as vintage.
The smaller version of the 6 Plus, the iPhone 6, however, is not yet on any of the lists. This is because, even though it was launched together with the Plus version in 2014, the device continued to be produced for another three years after the larger version was discontinued.
The entry of devices in the vintage and obsolete lists indicates that it will be more difficult to obtain official repairs and maintenance through the appledepending on the availability of components that each store has.

According to Apple itself, the devices classics or vintage of the brand are those “that Apple stopped distributing for sale between five and seven years ago”. Already obsolete products “are those that Apple stopped distributing for sale more than seven years ago” and Beats Monster-branded devices, regardless of when they were purchased.
According to the brand, hardware services are suspended for any obsolete Apple product, except for Mac notebooks that are entitled to a longer battery repair period. Service centers cannot even order parts for obsolete products.
It is also important to point out that there are exceptions depending on local laws around the world that eventually require a different behavior from the brand. But in general, Apple follows a standard for the availability of support for its products worldwide.
