Fans of 2019’s Shazam! have been waiting for the DC superhero movie sequel for a long time. After all, it was clear shortly after publication that there would be a second part. In the meantime, however, there is already initial information “Shazam 2” (“Shazam! Fury Of The Gods”).
Shazam 2: That’s what it’s all about
David F. Sandberg returns to the director’s chair for Shazam 2. The director is best known for his horror films Lights Out (2016) and Annabelle 2 (2017). But what will his sequel to the superhero film be about?
As always, Warner keeps a low profile on plot information. However, from the first trailers (seen below) we can gather that the sequel will be full of mythology, goddesses and fantastic characters…
Shazam 2: Who’s in?
Zachary Levi slips into the superhero suit again and we Shazam. But we also meet other old acquaintances, such as Adam Brody (Super Hero Freddy) or Grace Fulton (Mary Bromfield). However, Mark Strong will not return as Dr. Siavana. But there will be three villains at the same time. They are played by Helen Mirren (Hespera), Lucy Liu (Kalypso) and Rachel Zegler (name not yet announced).

Shazam 2: What is the FSK?
It is not yet known what age rating the superhero film will get. The first part received the FSK 12. We strongly assume that the makers will follow the predecessor and include younger fans. Therefore, we suspect that “Shazam 2” will also get the FSK 12.
When is Shazam 2 in cinemas?
After a few start postponements, a date has finally been set for a long time, which we hope will be met. “Shazam 2” will be released in Germany on June 1, 2023. Until then, you can look forward to strong works on the big screen this year. Here you can find out which films await you in 2022.
