This mechanism uses your Apple ID, which gives the high level of privacy to your authentication. In some applications or websites you may see a button, link or option with the message Sign in with Apple.
This means that you can set up an account on that website using your Apple ID. It should not be necessary for you to use an account associated with your social networks. Nor will you have to fill out any form or use a new password, since your access is regulated by the security parameters associated with your Apple ID.
The primary focus of Sign in with Apple is to maintain high levels of privacy regarding your personal data. This feature is included natively in Apple operating systems. macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS.

As we already mentioned, the goal of using this login mechanism on third-party websites or applications is to keep your privacy and security as high as possible.
This goal is achieved by making use of the security strengths associated with your Apple ID. In this way, when accessing websites you may be asked to enter your email address and Name. Here you can use Apple’s option of hide my email. With this option you will use a random email address.
What happens is that all mail sent to this address, is forwarded to the mailbox of your live account. In this way you can be aware of the messages sent by the application or the website without having to share your personal email address.
Also using Sign in with Apple will not create any trace of your activity or profiles while using third party applications or browsing the website. In fact, Apple is only limited to keeping essential information for your login and account management.
Another important strength in using this access method is that Apple incorporates two-factor authentication as part of its security. This allows you to authenticate whenever you want using Touch ID and Face ID when you want it.
Use Sign in with Apple on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac
In order to use this method to create accounts and access third-party websites or applications from a iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac you must meet certain requirements. First of all, you must have the two-factor authentication function activated. On the other hand, you must have signed in with your Apple ID in iCloud from the device in question.
Once you have met these requirements, you must proceed as follows:
- Verify that the website or application in question has the option Sign in with Apple or similar, and click on this option.
- In case you have to fill in fields with your name or email, these will be filled in automatically using your Apple ID information. You can also choose between Hide my email or Share my email. The first will use a random email address that will redirect all messages sent through the web to your personal address. The second shows your personal email address.
- Press the button Continue.
- You must confirm with Touch ID, Face ID or PIN of the device to complete the login. If you do not have any of these mechanisms, you must enter with the password associated with your Apple ID.
How to use it from another system
You can also use Sign in with Apple from other systems, such as Windows or Android, to create an account or access third-party websites and applications. For this you must follow the following steps:
- Verify that the website or application in question has the option Sign in with Apple or similar, and click on this option.
- If you see a website hosted by Apple and secure, you can enter your Apple ID and Password.
- If this is your first time logging in, a message with a verification code will be sent to your Apple device, or to the phone number that you have set up in your Apple ID as a trusted phone.
- Check your trusted device or phone and Enter the code you received on the website or application in question. In the specific case of the web, this step can be omitted from the moment you log in and for thirty days. For this to work, you must indicate that the browser you are using is trusted.
- In case you have to fill in fields with your name or email, these they will be filled in automatically using your Apple ID information. You can also choose between Hide my email or Share my email. Use Apple Sign in on an existing account
Some websites and applications may allow you toUse Sign in with Apple on an account you already have created and configured. The most common is that you can update your account from the application settings or from your profile on the web.
Also from iOS 14 you can add this authentication method to third-party platform accounts. In fact, if the password you use is too weak, the system itself will automatically suggest that you switch to Sign in with Apple. If so, you will only have to click on the notification in the option Use Sign in with Apple.
