Skydio closes deal to produce drone systems for the US military

Through an ‘Other Transactions’ (OTs) agreement, the manufacturer, which has been standing out for the quality of its drones and its autonomous technologies, was selected to the Short Range Recognition Registration Program (SRR) of the US Army. During the period, the company will receive US$ 20.2 million annually to supply its technologies to the government, in total, the agreement is for US$99.8 million.

With that, the skydio will provide access to the world’s most advanced autonomous drone technology to the US government, which will be used to deliver Small drones for Reconnaissance and Surveillance activities (LOL).

In total, the US Army evaluated the proposal of more than 30 autonomous unmanned aircraft manufacturers that could do the short-range reconnaissance work, five companies were chosen and had their solutions tested. After that, the skydio was chosen based on test results to provide its technologies to the government.

According to the company’s official publication, the drone Skydio X2D will be the model used by the US military, she says it “is the ultimate solution for military and defense customers to carry out reconnaissance, search and rescue and security patrol missions.”
