To be on the world wide web is to be subject to the inconstancy of virtual life. And, whether users or large institutions, at some point, inconvenience can happen – to say the least.
This Saturday (19) e-commerce platforms Submarine, shoptime and American received a hacker attack that resulted in the suspension of their websites from the air. The group B2W Digitalto which the platforms belong, informed that it is trying to normalize the services.
Since what happened on Saturday, the service has been intermittently, and many customers have asked on social media when there will be resolutions or clearer statements about their purchases, tracking and whether their data has been leaked.
Also on Saturday, the Americanas SA had contacted the press to inform them that services had been restored. However, today (21), only the Shoptime website is active, both Americanas and Submarino are offline and with notices to customers – as you could see just above. The B2W group believes it is better to suspend the service for technical verification and claims that no user data was leaked.
The Lapsus hacking group claimed responsibility for the attack. This is the same group that orchestrated the attack on the Ministry of Health website, among other federal institutions.
Physical stores and their systems were not affected, operations there remain normal. But applications related to these platforms, both in android how much iOS, also remain in suspension. We wait for updates on the matter to pass on new information to our readers.
