For those who were already missing new superheroes in the movies and like nostalgia, the Warner Bros. confirmed that the “Super Twins, activate!” will have their own live-action feature. According to information from The Hollywood Reporterthe script and the direction will be on account of Adam Sztykiel, who wrote Black Adam and Scooby! The film.
The film does not yet have a release date, as it has just been confirmed. It will be produced by Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey and released on HBO Max.
Until then, we don’t know much information about the story of the film or the tone that the production intends to give. Let’s remember here that the last Justice League movies and its members, for example, had a more serious atmosphere. However, the Super Twins were considered much of the comic relief of the ’70s cartoon.
Despite this, the twins Zan and Jayna are an interesting addition to the cinematic world of superheroes. The two extraterrestrials from the planet Exxor appeared in 1973 and were part of the group Super Amigos, created by Hannah-Barbera in partnership with DC Comics and Warner Bros. Studios. While Jayna can transform into any animal, whether extinct or not, Zan has the power of water, being able to turn into any of the three states of the element – power, even, which was a joke at the time and to this day. And, of course, the twins can only activate their powers if their hands are in contact, moments that were etched in the minds of a generation by the phrase “Super Gemini, activate!”
Over time and popularity, the Super Twins have appeared in DC series such as Teen Titans Go, Smallville, and The Flash. In addition, they came to be considered part of the main DC Universe, and in 2019, they won their own comic book series “Wonder Twins”.
