Lilly zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (49) is taking part in this year’s “Let’s Dance” season. In an interview with the “Bild” newspaper, the princess and entrepreneur spoke about the reasons for her participation and revealed which reaction from her environment particularly surprised her.
Positive reactions from the nobility
“In this Corona period you already have a very entrenched life. I’ve also founded two start-ups, but often you’re already sitting in some video calls from the morning. It will feel completely different now if you do something physically,” says the 49-year-old, looking forward to the RTL format. It’s a whole new experience for her since she hasn’t been on a TV show for a long time. A year ago she was told that this was a great format for her. “I have the greatest respect for the physical challenge,” the princess continues.
So far, she has only received positive reactions from her environment. Her ex-husband Alexander zu Schaumburg-Lippe (63), with whom she was married from 1993 to 2002, finds her participation “really great”, reveals the 49-year-old, who “just has no man” by her side. “But my two children, to whom I first told them I would take part, also thought it was great. My entire family is enthusiastic.” She was also very surprised by the positive feedback, especially from the nobility. “To be honest, I didn’t expect that at all.”
A special “Let’s Dance” training could be waiting for the entrepreneur. She has been commuting between Bückeburg and Athens since October. “If it is possible due to the corona, I will also train partly in Athens for ‘Let’s Dance’. It’s not okay that I don’t see my daughter for three and a half months.” According to her mother, the 16-year-old is currently training for the Greek ski team.
