The universe series Lord of the Rings that is being produced by amazon finally won its first teaser, which talks a little about the plot of the work and finally reveals the title of the series: The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Through an official announcement made by the showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay responsible for the adaptation, they talked a little about choosing this name for the production. According to both, they believe that this title could very well be in one of a book that would be alongside the classics of JRR Tolkien.
. “The Rings of Power unites all the major stories of the Second Age of Middle-earth: the forge of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. Until now, audiences have only seen the story of the One Ring on screen – but before there was one, there were many… and we are excited to share the epic story of them all.”
– Stated showrunners JD Payne & Patrick McKay.
In the quick teaser it is possible to see few details such as valleys with a thin fog before it is possible to understand what is really happening: the molten metal taking its place and alluding to the creation of the rings of power. After that, the camera moves away and it is possible to see the name of the series for the first time.
Something interesting about the footage released by Amazon is that she did not create this promotional video using CGI. All the footage was made using practical effects and the company showed how it did it through a behind-the-scenes video:
Unfortunately the teaser didn’t reveal much about the plot and doesn’t even show any characters from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. But in the narration it is clear that the series will tell the story of the 20 rings that are the heart of the saga. Lord of the Rings.
