Apart from the iPhone SE 5G should Apple 2022 will also present updates for some supplementary devices again in the spring. The major innovations, such as the iPhone 14 series and new Macs, are not expected until autumn. So far, nothing has really changed in the strategy of the US group. But his plans for the new tablets seem surprising.
Apple for 2022: what’s going on?
It’s been a good year since the iPad Pro received its last major upgrade. The model series received the last previous innovation in spring 2020. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman does not assume that the next update will appear just as quickly. After all, the previous two models would have essentially stood out from their predecessors with new chips and cameras. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman writes that he rather expects Apple to plan a new design for the iPhone Pro in the fall of 2022 – equipped with an M2 chip and wireless charging.
“But there’s a problem: Russian registration documents for three new iPhone models and nine new iPads surfaced earlier this week. The iPhone docs likely reference the various iterations of the SE, but nine new models would be way too many for a new iPad Air. Either more than just the Air is planned, or Apple has submitted its product launches quite early for this fall. We will see.”
MacRumors sometimes reported on these documents during the process. We are talking about three unreleased iPhones with the identifiers A2595, A2783 and A2784. However, Apple will attract particular attention in 2022 with a surprisingly high number of new tablets. Nine new tablets appear in the Russian documents. They bear the identifiers A2588, A2589, A2591, A2696, A2757, A2759, A2761, A2766 and A2777.
predictions of an observer
Gurman has often been correct in his analysis. For years he has dealt with the work of the group based in Cupertino, California. Nonetheless, his most recent assessments should also be taken with a pinch of salt, as they are not set in stone.
In addition to his observations about the new iPads that Apple could release in 2022, the Bloomberg editor sometimes expects a new M1 Pro chip for the first half of the year. The company is now to install this in another Mac, such as a higher-quality Mac mini or iMac.
He was told that Apple is planning “the most extensive range of new hardware products in the company’s history” in the fall. That makes sense. After all, Gurman’s list includes “four new iPhones, a budget MacBook Pro, an updated iMac, the new Mac Pro, a revamped MacBook Air, an AirPods Pro upgrade, three Apple Watches, a budget iPad, and iPad Pros.”
