More than two billion people worldwide use Metas (formerly Facebook) Messenger. To keep it that way, the company has to offer improvements and innovations on a regular basis. This is the only way to retain users in the service in the long term. What is it at WhatsApp 2022 There are therefore five new functions to be expected.
The latest features for WhatsApp 2022 at a glance
There is a lot to discover on Facebook’s Messenger, including many features for messages, chats, groups and photos. Despite the already large number of upcoming functions and improvements, you can assume that WhatsApp will have a lot more to offer in 2022 than the following.
# 1 use WhatsApp on multiple devices
The “multi-device beta” has been around since last year. You can then use WhatsApp on your tablet and mobile phone in parallel, for example. A total of four devices should be possible at the same time.
What’s new this year: It will no longer be necessary to have the smartphone close by to use Facebook Messenger for other purposes. Only if you haven’t accessed WhatsApp for two weeks should you have to verify yourself again using your mobile phone for a further connection.
# 2 Online status display is expanded
In order to prevent strangers from receiving too much information about you, WhatsApp is to receive an expanded selection option for contacts in 2022. This allows you to define exactly for whom your online status is visible on WhatsApp.
# 3 Better quality when sending photos
The improvement that Facebook Messenger has been considering for pictures and videos could be not insignificant. A new filter function for WhatsApp images should offer more options this year. Among them, for example, the option to get the best possible quality out of your recordings.
# 4 Improved use and operation of voice messages
Anyone who currently wants to listen to a spoken message can only do so in the chat in which it was sent. According to t-online, that should change in the future. A decoupling of voice messages is planned for WhatsApp in 2022. This means that you can listen to them even after leaving the chat. There is also a pause function for recording.
# 5 Expanded group functions and admin rights
WhatsApp wants to introduce so-called “Communites” in 2022, reports t-online. This is a kind of superordinate group in which several other groups can be accommodated. In order to achieve this, administrators should also be given more rights. These can then, for example, remove messages from other users’ groups.
