WhatsApp may soon release two highly requested features. The first is one that iPhone users have been waiting for since the company made it possible for owners and later those who migrated their chat history from an iOS device. By a post discovered by , found evidence in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS of a feature that allows you to migrate your chat history from Android to iOS. The discovery builds on a previous one, the output .

Screenshots shared by WABetaInfo I suggest that the app ask for your permission before it starts migrating your chat history. We also know from the previous leak that you will need to use Apple’s as part of the transfer process. On Android, this same process can be tricky as you need a Lightning to USB-C cable and a phone that is new or has recently been factory reset.

On a WABetaInfo published over the weekend, the site found that WhatsApp is also working on a two-step verification feature for its desktop and web clients. If the company goes ahead with a release, the tool will allow you to add a personal pin to your account. That way, whenever you want to access WhatsApp from your computer or online, you’ll need to enter that password, as well as the six-digit PIN that WhatsApp sends to your phone. This is something that will help protect you from SIM swapping attacks.

It’s unclear when the company plans to release any of the features. A month before the migration launched on Samsung devices, WhatsApp boss Will Cathcart would be coming to iOS phones “soon”.
