WhatsApp releases the function of listening to audio outside the conversation for iOS

THE Whatsapp is releasing to the users of the operating system iYOU the functionality of listen to audios outside the conversation. The tool is useful for listening to long audios while answering other people and viewing messages from conversations and groups in the app. This novelty has been in development for some time, but has only now arrived for testing through the WhatsApp Beta.

Listen to audio and “browse” WhatsApp conversations

It is currently possible to listen to audios received on Whatsapp with the screen locked or leaving the messaging app in the background. But whenever you return to the main screen, exit the conversation you are listening to the audio from, the voice message ends. Who initiates the test of the new tool of the Whatsapp you will see changes in the look of the main screen. When starting the playing an audio and exit the conversation, the top of the home screen will show a small audio player. It will have the option to pause the voice message (left corner) and to close the audio (right corner of the player). In the middle of this player, the name of the contact whose voice message is playing, along with the profile picture.

In the maybe near future, maybe not, you will see the contact’s profile picture in the incoming message notification. THE Whatsapp is also developing a new notification type for groups. The company will create different notifications for mentions and messages replied to in groups. Currently, the Whatsapp it only informs you that someone tagged you, without specifying if they were replying to a message or a simple tag.

And Android, huh?

The website WABetaInfo published that the Whatsapp is working on developing a version of this function for the android. There is no forecast of when the company will bring the functionality to the non iOS devices.
